Email Setup Guide Overview

Email Editor is a tool that helps you create brand immersive experiences for your customers at every step of the order delivery journey. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of editing email templates, adding brand assets, updating content, previewing, and publishing emails.

Editing email templates

To begin editing your email templates, log in to your Hub account, open the menu on the left, select Notify, expand Templates, and click Email Templates. From this section, you can edit, test, publish, and style your email templates. Select a template, then click Edit Draft to begin editing your email template.

  • Left panel - The left panel enables you to add blocks to the email template. 
  • The center panel - The center panel allows you to modify blocks, reorganize the layout, or remove blocks. 
  • The right panel - The right panel enables you use to change the settings of a selected block. 

Editing blocks within a template

From the Center Panel, select the block you want to edit. The block will become highlighted indicating that it is ready for editing in the Right Panel. The Right Panel will display all of the elements that can be edited.


Tip: The blocks that contain curly brackets (ex. {{order_info.first_name}} )are pulled dynamically from your order data. We recommend leaving those as-is or enlisting help from a technical resource for any updates. 

Updating block styling

Select a block you want to update and in the Right Panel you will be able to make edits to the styling of that block. You can adjust the font, text alignment, text colors, background colors, and more all from the right panel for each block in your email template. 


Tip: Use the Tracker section in each block to segment engagement by category. You can then view this performance in Email Engagement Analytics. 

Updating styling

Updating email template styling

You can update the styling of your email template, including the font and background color, by navigating to the Email Templates page. Log in to your Hub account, open the menu on the left, click Notify, and select Email Templates. From the Email Templates page, click on the Styling tab at the top of the section. 


Here on the Styling section, you can choose the fonts you want your email templates to use and update your background color using a valid hexadecimal value of the color you want to use. 

Adding marketing assets

Marketing Assets are promotional assets that enhance the consumer experience and drive more engagement with your brand.  

Tip: Update Marketing Assets seasonally to boost engagement and repurchase rates. 

Uploading assets

  • From the navigation menu under Notify, click Image Assets.
  • From the Image Assets page, click Add New.
  • Drag an image to the upload section, then enter the image details.
  • For the Category of the image select Marketing Asset.
  • Choose the locale for which the asset can be used.
  • Select the asset orientation (optional).
  • Include an Image Asset Link to where the customer will be redirected if the image is clicked.
  • Add Alternative Text for improved accessibility for customers.

Adding image assets to email templates

Now that you have added a Marketing Asset, it's time to add it to your email template. To add a marketing asset in an email template, follow these steps:

  • Choose the email template you'd like to add the asset to from the list on the Email Templates page.
  • Click Edit Draft, then in the Center Panel of the Template Editor select the Marketing Asset block.
    • If you have not added the block yet, select Media from the list of block types on the left side of the page and then drag and drop the Marketing Asset block into the template.
  • Navigate to the Right Panel for the Marketing Asset settings, in the Banner 1 drop-down menu, select the image to add to the template.
  • Repeat these steps for any other assets you want to add to your email template.

Note: Don't see the asset you added? Make sure assets are saved for the correct category i.e. Social Icons are saved as Social Icon, logos are saved as Brand Logo, and marketing assets are saved as Marketing Asset.

Previewing and saving

Once you have completed editing your email template, you can preview edits directly within the editor tool. 

  • Select the email template you'd like to preview and click Edit Draft.
  • From the Template Editor, click Preview in the upper right corner.
  • From the preview screen switch between Desktop View or Mobile View using the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  • From the same screen select the email type you would like to view using the second drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  • Once satisfied, exit and save the template.



Testing your emails

Now that you have edited and previewed your template, it's time to test.

  • From the Email Template Details page, add your email to the recipients section and click Send Test Email
  • Repeat these steps for any other email templates.


Tip: If you want to send a test email to multiple recipients, just separate each email address with a comma. 

Publishing your emails

Your changes will be saved in Draft status until you are ready for them to go live. Once you've made edits, previewed, and tested, the final step is to Publish. 

Navigate to the Edit Draft section by opening the menu on the left, click Notify, expanding Templates, then selecting Email Templates. Once on the template page, choose the template you want to publish. On the Email Template Details page page click Publish in the top right corner. Your changes will be Live immediately.
