Narvar Track offers the ability to schedule Track Experience changes, or rotations, ahead of time by using scheduled segments. This feature can be particularly useful if you have specific timeframes for which you'd like to rotate marketing assets on the tracking page to line up with marketing campaigns that may be running through other channels or touch points.

When a scheduled segment goes into effect, your customers will see the experience assigned in the scheduled segment instead of the default experience set in Default Tracking Experience. Once the scheduled period ends, the segment no longer applies, and traffic is routed back to the default experience that is set above. In order to set an experience for a scheduled segment, the experience that will be assigned to the segment must be created prior to scheduling.  


Scheduling an experience using a scheduled segment

To begin scheduling a segment, log in to Narvar Hub, open the menu in the top left corner, select Track, and choose Experience Manager

On the Experience Manager page, click Create New Segment at the bottom of the page and follow the steps below. 

  • Add a name for the segment. If this is your first time creating a segment, view our documentation on Segmentation

  • Select the experience you’d like to show. 

  • For multi-locale tenants, select the locales you wish for the segment to apply.
  • In the Configure Conditions section, you can add a condition that must be met for the segment to receive the alternate experience. For example, you can create a condition that stipulates the segment will only take effect if a specific item category is present in an order. Including a condition for a segment is not mandatory.
  • Next, enable the checkbox to Set a time frame for this segment.

  • Select a start/end date, start/end time, and time zone—choose Immediately if you want the scheduled segment to apply as soon as you save your settings.

  • Click the Save button in the top right corner.

Note: A scheduled segment may take up to 15 minutes to apply to your live experience, so be sure to account for this when scheduling a segment in advance and while testing.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Leverage scheduled segments to set experiences with assets for promotions and sales running through other channels to optimize the value of the traffic coming through from customers tracking their packages.

  • When creating a new experience you want to schedule with a segment, duplicate an existing experience and update the new experience with a clear name so it's easy to identify in the segmentation tool.

  • Set a precise start date/time and end date/time. If you want to set the experience to apply immediately and exist indefinitely, we recommend that you change the Default Tracking Experience for that locale instead.
